Benefits of Raw Cacao~

This happens to be the biggest time of the year to celebrate love and enjoy chocolate. Not to fear, there are actually some very healthy benefits of having raw chocolate in moderation.  

Did you know that comfortable warm feeling you get from chocolate is actually a chemical reaction?  It is caused by  Phenylethylamine (PEA) which is found in chocolate. This is an adrenal-related chemical that is found in chocolate & created within the brain. The brain releases it when a person is in love. This is one of the reasons why love & chocolate correlate. PEA also plays a role in increasing focus and alertness.

Did you also know that there is a chemical found in chocolate call Anandamide, AKA “The Bliss Chemical”, it is produced naturally in the brain It is released when the body is feeling good. Cacao contains enzyme inhibitors that decrease the body’s ability to breakdown anandamide. This means that natural anandamide and/or cacao anandamide may stick around longer, making one feel good longer!

 Also Raw Chocolate called Cacao is high in Magnesium, this mineral is directly correlated with happiness, strong bones and is known to balance brain chemistry.Cacao is also high in Sulfur content. Sulfur is a great liver detoxifier and builds strong nails, hair and healthy skin (who isn’t happy about that!)
